Jerome IX was perhaps the Archbishop most lacking in pastoral tact, but where pastoral care failed, military prowess was evident.  He was called the 'Warrior-Bishop' because of his insistance to follow the Lordaeronian troops into battle, providing healing and support where he could.  Jerome was assumed dead when a ship of the Lordaeronian Navy that he was accompanying never made it to port.

Jerome IX is also remembered for his alterations to the process of the election of an Archbishop.  After a rather length conclave, Jerome was elected and as his first official act as Archbishop he revised the conclave system to allow a suspension of the rules after the twelth vote to reduce the necessary votes from a unanimous vote to a two-thirds majority.  The motion requires a three-fourths majority to pass.
